WordPress 2.2.1 upgrade

Oeps.. a wordpress upgrade went totally wrong.
By removing all plugins and insert them one by one I was able to get all working again but the guys at WordPress do ‘suck’

a big ‘array’ issue is comming up: withing the admin interface (but also .htaccess) everywhere the keyword: array is displayed. Back to 2.1.3 and there is no issue anymore. In the forums I read that it is an issue of PHP and Zend. WHAT??

why so suddenly??

PHP 4.3.9 (cgi) (built: May 10 2007 05:19:09) & Zend Engine v1.3.0, with Zend Optimizer v2.5.10 with Zend Extension Manager v1.0.7. Okay not the newest stuff, but CENTOS and BlueQuartz do not offer me any other upgrade !!

and now I read in the trac that ‘customers should upgrade their software.. *UH??* 

So 2.1.3 is working here, but 2.2.1 a no go ! be warned !

LANDISK: NAS-BASIC48

Just got a confirmation from my contacts: RDC has released NAS-BASIC48 to vendor(s) no loader change. The NAS-BASIC48 has been released to fix Microsoft Vista bugs.

indeed in the webinterface there is mention of wget stuff, but there is no function addressed to it yet. Even the release notes of RDC does not mention it

I am waiting for the files now, so that I can release it asap.

I’ve released the NAS-BASIC48.. (not tested yet. Probably later today)

firmware tested, the wget stuff is bogus as the cgi is not included (probably also too big to be included into the memory and maybe this html is also used for the 2891 chipset

New is in the GUI that there is now more info aobut the HDD inserted.

Update information for RDC2882 chipset: this chipset will be phased out Q1 2008. Af from today the latest version of the firmware is the latest one(s) available from my website http://www.aroundmyroom.com/landisk

total focus of RDC is now the RDC2891 and from Q2 2008 the RDC2892 chipset

Gezocht: iets om een reis website mee te maken

Ik zoek een aantal tools waarmee ik makkelijk en simpel, maar ook op een hierarchische wijze een reiswebsite in elkaar kan prutsen: makkelijk foto’s plaatsen, makkelijk hoofd-entries en neven entries etc..

Alle tools: movabletype, joomla of wordpress voldoen gewoonweg niet (of het komt door de template(s), of het gebrek eraan) of het komt omdat ik gewoonweg er niet genoeg tijd voor neem.

Iemand een tip?

Zie je het voor je: je hebt een GPS kastje in je auto, staat afgesteld op maximale snelheid op bijv. de snelweg en elke dag wordt de GPS log verstuurd naar een centrale server. Big Brother is watching: hij ziet waar je bent geweest, waar je te snel hebt gereden (de rode kruisjes) en wat al niet meer. Een nieuw leuk speeltje wat ik van plan ben mee te nemen naar China .. Dan zie je meteen waar we overal geweest zijn want de data kun je importeren in Google Earth .. Kewl!

Windows XP, UPnP & SSDP stuff

For more than 1 year I had issues with discovering UPnP devices in my network. Oh, they worked and could be found, only 1 system in the network was not able to discover any device. I searched Microsoft.com website, Google, Wikipedia and used several tools to solve the issue. Even the Intel UPnP tools were used to discover where the issue could be found.

after all kind of testings I only could analyze that the packages for UPnP / SSDP were sent but no reply from devices on the network. Wierd…

Today after too much hacking in the system, I decided to reinstall an image and check again. From scratch I had the same issue. WOW .. and than suddenly the solution was found.

My 2nd system (The notebook) was working wired and wireless on and off cause I use it now as a temp. machine. I discovered that when using the LAN-Cable the UPnP devices on the network were nowhere to be found anymore. When using Wireless: there they were. Damn, can it be possible? I took 1 direct cable from my wall mount (so the use of another switch was not necessary and: there were my devices again.

So after more than 1 day searching: the simple dump gigabit switch was blocking the incoming UPnP traffic .. pffff

ADSL firmware upgrade C54APRA2Plus

Just upgraded a beta (soon to be final) release of the C54APRA2plus firmware.

I encountered a bug where Traceroute was not functioning when PPPoA is used for the DSL connection. This has been fixed in my new firmware. Now this bug is fixed. Now testing the stability ;-)
