Samba Problem

With my first qube3 it was running within 5 minutes, but with a new qube3 (the first one, crashed and burned the mainboard) I am not able to setup the simple SAMBA stuff again:

when using:

[root log]# smbclient -I 192.168.1.15 -L lilian

I am able to see the other system(s) but without the IP address it is not working.
I am not able to configure the ” linuxbackup ” as it gives error(s)

I think it has to do with hostname lookups through netbios cause I can access the linuxbox by entering \\192.168.1.100
but the hostname is not resolved (the windows clients did not alter their configurations.

Right now I noticed that I can use IP address for the share, but not the name.

So how can I resolv the local hostnames correctly?

BNN With Weblogs

TV/Radio station BNN has started serving weblogs for people.
No RSS feeds.
Yup.. just add ?view=rss behind the url and it’s giving you the RSS

This service is a way (they think) to gain more members. I think it sucks.
I’ve just tested it for a few minutes:
My URL @ BNN the RSS feed
No permalinks, images uploading?
I’ve reached my limit, with using 0 images. Okay my error probably.

Yup: it really sucks. It sucks less than earlier cause RSS is possible

Switching Servers

I am going to switch servers for AroundMyRoom
All has to do with: options, support, bandwidth, Storage etc.
It would surpise me if I would be able to transfer it all without any problem.

moblog

I’ve just created a simple moblog without having a mobilephone with camera :-)

And the best thing: it’s free! and with RSS !

It’s just sending images to an e-mail account.
Simple. Damn I wish this was possible with MT yet.
