v1.09.40
More info about availability later. Firmware will be released to beta testers (probably tomorrow tonight) first, before a public release will be made through the official channel. Firmware version is withdrawn due to some issues we have to debug. (mainly on music level).
Finally all my domains under 1 roof ..
I’ve moved all my domains from Gandi.net and other registrars to a ‘dutch’ home and I have total control over my own DNS by using DNSTOOLS.NL ..
22 domains where most of them are running over my DSL line and this server .. Greatest and kewlest domain I have is aroundtheworld.net .. ;-)
Tsja.. wat mot je scheren bij Giel … Ben
Blog updated, Plugins updated. All is running fine. fixed hackable script (other site) .. no catching up with other stuff …
After a 5 hours flight from Hurghada, Egypt, we are now back home (03.15 AM) I will be catching up my e-mail tomorrow ;-) .. no idea how much e-mail (and spam) I can expect after not using, touching any PC for 2 weeks !
After getting valueable feedback from beta testers using e-mail and the bugtraq system I’m about to release a new firmware version (Release Candidate).
We do release this firmware with Kernel 2.4 so that’s why you will see 1.09.32 as firmware version
Kernel 2.4 firmware images will be released in the 1.09.xx. range and Kernel 2.6 firmware images in the range 1.10.xx
Firmware versions in the 1.10.xx range will not be released to the public yet.
It is the intention to release this version (1.09.32.06) as internet upgrade and as downloadable firmware file from the official website before the end of this week.
New Beta firmware Release (Release Candidate)
This upgrade is available now. Use the Internet Update function in the setup menu to update to 1.09.32.06 People using beta 1.10.xx.xx should upgrade manually by USB. The update file will be available through the official website tomorrow 15/08/08
After getting good feedback from various users and testing myself as well I was really unhappy with the way the UPnP server was integrated and causing issues with updates. And not to forget having issues with Playstation 3 and suddenly missing SRT support again (neat feature which is not available within many UPnP servers, so I could get some fame… (I already have cause we do have Kernel NFS ;-) ).
Today a new release for beta testers .. 1.04RC5.
What is extremely important is that after firmware upgrade you NEED to reset the CH3SNAS to factory defaults. If you do not do this than certain scripts will not be updated from firmware into flash.
Is the following line for mounting samba shares a good one?
smbmount //server/share /tmp/mountpoing -o lfs,codepage=cp437,iocharset=utf8,username=xx,password=xx
Or has someone a better mount line? Like something with CIFS?
