FON

Ik heb een ‘witte’ FON AccessPoint ontvangen en nog geen paar dagen na installatie werd mijn DSL verbinding tijdelijk door m’n provider geblocked. Hoe toevallig. Maar het zal wel niets met elkaar te maken.

Het is jammer dat SNMP gewoonweg niet geimplementeerd is op de FON om eventueel datatraffic te blijven volgen. Dat heb ik namelijk wel geactiveerd op mijn C54APT en C54APRA2Plus Conceptronic AccessPoint en DSL modem. Inmiddels dus weer online, maar de witte FON is offline gezet. Ik ga hem maar weer naar het werk meenemen, en ‘s kijken of ik rare dingen zie (de configuratie is ok)

Twitter gebruik

Sjee .. ik zie een aantal mensen twitter gebruiken om korte berichten naar 1 persoon te sturen die dan bij iedereen aankomt. Beetje onzinnig gebruik van twitter lijkt mij.

Waarom zou je twitter gebruiken als je ook een sneller medium (zoals e-mail) hebt. Bij Twitter moet je altijd maar blijven kijken of er iets geschreven is. In principe is het dermate vluchtig in gebruik (korte berichten) dat het ook zo weer ‘weg’ kan zijn omdat het niet meer te zien valt in de hoeveelheid ‘twit’ berichten die je schrijft.

Nah die personen zullen het zogenaamd wel übermakkelijk vinden ..

Proftpd stuff and info asked

have 1 domain running with 2 users

user 1 is upload
user 2 is the siteadmin, name: download
with a special setting for proftpd I am able that user1 can upload, make folders etc .. and user download is able to download the stuff
But …
I want this user download also to be able to chmod the files to ie. 644, 755, 777

normally when root / admin you can do this, but how to do it through the proftd.conf?

LANDISK – RDC2882 – Clock Drift?

At 2 different locations (Holland / Spain) I have had tested the Landisk RDC 2882 based with various versions of available firmware: none of the locations was able to report to me the Clock Drift issue reported in the comments. So in short: I cannot reproduce the issue.

Also it seems that RDC is abandoning the 2882 chipset slowly as their main focus is now on the 2891 chipset which is similar but much better and improved performance. Do I have a sample of a landisk with this chipset: Yes ;-)  Do I have any sources / kernel etc.? No at this time not ..

and a lot of time I was asked what kind of OS is used: http://www.ucos-ii.com/ that is the main core if I am correctly informed..

Busy with: Testing nice hardware stuff

Testing 54g router and UPnP .. finding out that uTorrent has big issues with UPnP so it’s not a good app to test the router UPnP. Using Intel sniffer tools and of course other tools

Also tesing a clock drift issue of Landisk: but after hours of testing, we could not find any issue when using our html interface and/or kernel.

Also bug testing some features of a nice UPnP Client device for playing movies .. mmm
