CFULLHDMA(i): Beta firmware 1.17.38

Released to beta testers today

improved: the performance for playback 1080p
Fixed: the HWICS issue

Beta testers will receive the info for download later today. Non beta testers will be able to use this firmware next week through the official internet download channel.

Official Release: 1.17.22.xx CFULLHDMA firmware

Customers with a CFULLHDMA or CFULLHDMAi have the ability to upgrade their device to 1.17.22.06 / 1.17.22.09 or 1.17.22.10

The most important fix is the ‘Pause’ issue and we have added the ‘Conceptronic Recommends’ channel in IMedia. Interesting channels are available through a menu. Note that this function is still experimental.

  • Fixed: system hang when playing DVD files (iso and ifo approach) and then pause for several minutes, and then press the play button again

our team of developers is working very hard to solve certain bugs mentioned by beta testers. For instance some DTS drops and the performance of 1080p which is under debugging now.

Running Mozilla on the Conceptronic YuiXX with Intel’s CE3100 SoC

Some leaked specs:
  • 33MB Memory usage of the whole browser application
  • Only 2~6% CPU usage is being used by the browser application
  • Just 1.2 seconds Onetime startup of the browser application

This Application is running at 1080p @ 60Hz, natively on the OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenVG of the Intel CE 3100 processor.

Enough power is left for other applications like: Multiple Applications in the Widget Channel, Samba, NFS etc.. More surprises will be revealed later.

CH3SNAS: 1.05.b05 – fixing functions working in the past

After the latest release of 1.05.b04 I received a few e-mails of users telling that certain options did not work as expected
So we checked the submitted issues and today we release 1.05.b05

Release Notes

  • UPnP Server does not allow single quote ‘ in foldernames: fixed
  • Special character like ! in password could not be used anymore: fixed

CFULLHDMA(i) beta firmware 1.17.22 – 1.17.19

Available for subscribed beta testers:

  • Added: Conceptronic recommends in iMedia for CFULLHDMAi
  •  Temporarily broken: some streaming media through imedia. Several services do not work as expected in this beta. Main focus of this release is to get feedback about the pause issue reported by many testers.

Yuixx – CE 3100 – Streaming HD media Player / IPTV solution

2L International & Metrological announced today in a press release the first ready-to-market streaming HD media Player / IPTV solution based on Intel(r) Media processor CE 3100 (Metrological press release including images can be found here)

Involved in the project I can of course tell and show a little more than what the press release is announcing. In short: The device is focussing on HD content, streaming media and much more! I’m impressed about the quality of the Intel CE 3100 (aka Canmore SoC) which is totally different from all the solutions I have seen before and worked with. Yes it does 1080p at 1920*1080, it has HDMI 1.3a, Composite, Component, Stereo, S/PDIFF optical, USB at the back and USB at the front, SD/MMC cardreader and optional: smartcard reader & all kinds of Digital Tuner cards.

Last year Intel & Yahoo announced the availability of Widgets and they can be embedded as well. What to think about Twitter on your TV or Flickr or many other Widgets?
