Server Update
This morning a memory issue caused the server to crash
This afternoon I have updated PHP 4 to PHP5, this makes the server more flexible for certain scripts.
Noticed that the ftp script for the backup still was messing up my cron, but I was able to kill those sessions.

it’s 1.03 (0418.2008) where we have removed the scandisk function and fixed the e-mail issues with regard to the . and – characters not be able to use to store/save it.
In reply to reports of users mentioning that the HDD does not want to go into standby: engineers are not able to reproduce this <sigh>, so I must collect as much info as possible
- How Much HDD? 1 or 2 ?
- What is/are the brandname(s) of the HDD(s) ?
- If you use 1 HDD, is it inserted LEFT or RIGHT (frontview) ?
- If you use 2 HDD which one does not spindown ?
- With which firmware did you format the HDD: 1.02, 1.03 ?
- How is it formatted? Single Disk, Raid1 etc…
- Do you use UPnP Server ?
- Do you use iTunes Server ?
- Did you enable PowerSave ?
- Do you use Fun_Plug ?
- Any other additional info you want to give?
Not Good: My own FTP script
My backup FTP script is NOT GOOD.. it exhausted my memory ?? on the webserver caushing the server to ‘crash’ / not react for 4 hours, even connecting my monitor to the server: I could type my username, but login: nope ..
So message to self: how the hell can I FTP 40GB of data via a shell script without exhausting my memory .. <sigh> …
rebooting (fingers always crossed) and after 5 minutes the server was up again

New York: Apple Store
Right now we are in New York and visiting the Apple Store at 5th Ave which is 24/7 open.
Yesterday’s flight was perfect. NewArk airport is beautiful. Not crowded nothing at all. Even the procedure to enter the US was simple and quick. We took a shuttle-bus which was there within 10 minutes waiting. Very easy and simple.
After a quickly refreshing ourselves we went to Time Square (just around the corner of our Hotel Edison), took the metro and finished our day with a delicious meal at the ‘Oyster Bar’ in Grand Central.
