HP-C5280 Photosmart Label print problem

During my summerholiday in China (1 month) I received several reactions from users around Europe writing that they have (had) the same issues with the HP C5280 Photosmart printer as I was reporting in August Due to my database removal I lost some comments.

I do not own this printer myself anymore: after 2 failing devices I got my money back. But customers do report that even revised printers from HP (Those printers should have had an QC (Quality Check) by HP but still do fail the DVD / CD Label printing. I do urge HP to solve this issue as we are still looking for a printer which is capable of doing its job correctly!

I also regret buying a HP C5280 at Comp USA. After 1 month it quit printing CD’s.
For some reason Ink is all over the inside housing of the printer. And it just rejects the CD holder and get paper jam error when there’s no paper stuck in there.
Print out is grainy and under magnafication the print looks like it’s been screened with hexigons and squares. To make things worst the software is buggy. Everytime you scan you have to reconfigure the sharpness setting, the descreen setting, size and contrast settings. And then when printing one has to keep going back to configure the print settings for each print out. What a pain….! too bad I can’t get my moneyback from Comp USA.

And not to mention that when it thinks you have run out of ink but still got plenty in the cartridge it prints green when printing only the color blue, and prints orange when printing only the color red.
In addition the cd label feature only works with the half hazard Roxio software that comes with it AND WITH NO OTHER SOFTWARE.

  4. My HP C5280 has just started malfunctioning on the CD/DVD printing after 6 months.

All other functions working OK but it keeps telling me the CD/DVD tray is open, which it is NOT.

Occasionally, when I encourage the CD/DVD holder into the machine the printer starts moving the DVD in and out a few times then tells me I have a paper jam, which I have not.

Not the easiest of products to send back under warranty.

I have the paper jam issue with this 3-day-old printer too. I’ve printed exactly 3 pages with it, and as soon as I tried to print a DVD label I got the error message. Nothing seems to be able to clear it.

What a piece of junk! I knew I should have bought a Canon.

I have been texting HP support over my printer. They finally told me to call them for one on one help. I told them to quit bothering me. I wasn’t interested anymore. My problem is I can’t get any E-mails to print. I also can’t print any envelopes. My last Hp I buy.

I have a HP C5280 and having replaced both cartridges with new HP units after about 5 pages apparently there’s a problem with the colour one and the printer is locked up now. My previous HP 1610 was great but this new one is appearing to be a pile of rubbish. I’ll no longer be recommending HP.

GOOD TO SEE OTHERS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 5280 (MISERY LOVES COMPANY HAHA.) FROM THE GET GO I HAD PROBLEMS WITH PAPER JAMMING, NOT PRINTING SQUARELY ON PAPER, IMAGE OFF CENTRE ON CD’S/DVD’S, NUMEROUS ERROR MESSAGES ETC. I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IT BACK BUT I DIDN’T. IT IS THE WORST PIECE OF CRAP I HAVE EVER PURCHASED. WOULD ADVISE PEOPLE TO STEER CLEAR OF THIS PRODUCT. CAN ANYONE TELL WHAT PRINTER BRANDS ARE GOOD. AND DON’T SAY HP ‘COS WE ALL KNOW THATS NOT TRUE HAHA.

I have a an HPC5280. Keeps telling me to insert the CD tray when it is in and kicks it out when I try again, tells me I am out of ink when I am not, tells me there is a paper jam when I’m printing to CD and there is no paper in it and here’s a new one! I have recently connected to 64 bit PC, downloaded the driver from HP site and it now it prints the CD image to the paper tray not the CD (I have selected the CD tray in print), in between doing all the other things! Never buy another HP machine ever.

Worst printer I have ever used.

    Only can use thin paper.

If I try photo paper it jams. And all this after weeks of trying to get the scanner to work.

Wate of time. Takes days to do a job that should take 5 minutes.
