MovableType 3.0 issues

Just fixed some problems with MT 3.0. I was not able to control 1 weblog anymore. No user had really access to it anymore and there was 1 weblog where no user was attached anymore. The weblog was not displayed anymore but still noticed in the config of Movabletype.

With the help of the wonderful tool: MT-MEDIC I solved the problems.

Cleaning up the database with inactive non used weblogs and adding permissions to the users for 1 specific weblog.

progress

I’m a HTML nono but I am happy with the progress of the weblog and how it is looking now. I had to make some choises and permalinks to week entries do not exist anymore. Right now all entries are saved in a folder, and stored in month archives. Gives some 404 errors but that’s life. Sometimes you have to make choices.

Remarks are welcome, but I’ve never received much comments on any of my weblog entries. Probably I do not write in a way so that people feel they need to react.

Tonight also busy with scrapedfeeds.com, added 2 new scraped rss feeds for European Championship Footbal news.

Psst. I scrape at request. It’s free!!!

working remote

Working remote from behind a proxy. Meaning I am at work. Testing a little the speed and performance of the weblog. It’s looking great.

Only .. Only …. the building of a new entry should be done in the background cause that is consuming some time.

Also testing some stuff at the blogger.xs4all.nl page (trackback / rss stuff) ..

it worked

so, switched servers and saving hosting money now for my weblog.
What did I do?

I run movabletype version 3.0 for 3 domains now (liliancam.net, griftstate.com and aroundmyroom.com). The weblog resides on www.mixfans.org and from there it serves the domains to have a weblog running. (all those domains are my own and run as virtual host at my qube3
In the morning I upgraded to MT 3.0, imported the database from the old server into the new one and kept the standard templates.
finetuning some issues and did some trials with the fresh installed weblog. All worked fine immediately.
In the afternoon
Switching DNS to another IP, and checking if everything went well.
Tonight
added the statistics page for myself and put it in the crontab.
It’s cool to see if things work as expected, but still some work left.

Other Server, Other look

AroundMyRoom is now running from my own personal server. Running at home. The sample templates are fine for me, so I will not change to the old look. All entries are imported into the database and archives have been made also.

Kewl .. it feels like a fresh new start.
