The Qube3 I bought this weekend was an older Cobalt Qube (so no Sun name on the outside to be found). I did several things:

installed the Standard Edition software on the 10GB Qube3 to remove the development software which was on it (Getronics stuff I believe)
After the installation and updates of the packages we had a working system again (after 3 hours). Than we ‘saved’ the most important data from the /home folder from the crashed 20GB disk with drive-image 7 and we placed the 20GB into the new Qube3. Again we restored the OS and updated it with the update-packages..

tonight: trying to get the server back in the air with the mixfans.org domain.

b.t.w. punkey.com is down also :-( due to severe server load, cause by MT (movabletype) his hoster is saying.

My Qube3 died

My qube does not eat power anymore :-( I am not happy :-((

Suddenly: smoke and flames.. Yup .. the qube3 is now officially dead :-(
Tonight we will pickup another qube3 which we were able to buy very fast through marktplaats.nl

domains down right now:
– mixfans.org
– griftstate.com
– scrapedfeeds.com
– liliancam.net

:-(

linux logfiles home-access

At my homeserver I have 1 logfile: home-access, this file is removed every hour. But I want to create multiple files for every domain hosted. But how the hell can I add these files by CRON that they are removed again? or rotatated?

any linux geek here?
Thanks

apache / mail question

I’m busy to configure my qube for mutiple domains. That’s working

The only thing which is questioning me is: e-mail is addressed to the servername: www.domain.com, so dennis@www.domain.com is the result when using ie. webmail.
Of course I can change the servername to: domain.com, but than HTML references do go wrong. Or a rewrite has to do the job, but I have no idea how to do this. Anyone?

Qube3

Qube3 upgraded with 4.3.2 PHP with a working ADMIN section using the old version of PHP. WOW !
Finally. I’m up to date again for the webserver with applications using PHP
