CFULLHDMAi Firmware Updated

Thanks to the MKV specification and the usage of a certain part of that specs by the release group IMMERSE many Mediaplayer vendor had to update their devices with a new updated firmware where they follow the spec. When not following and using a TV series release from IMMERSE there was suddenly no sound anymore (and: I noticed that with those MKV’s they already put english subtitles as well).

So after getting a notice, the guys at Conceptronic (I am not part of Conceptronic anymore, so do not blame me when you have an issue) jumped to their developers and after debugging and testing a first release fixing this issue was released today.

Newsservers & NAS ;-)

First of all thanks to my readers about answering the questions about the Network Attached Storage. Helpful. Looking at the answers I still have a lot of advanced users as blog reader. The ‘common’ man / woman did not enter any of the questions. So the probably I had to ask the question:

How do you ‘sell’ a NAS device to your brother, mother in law, sister or friend without computer knowledge but having a internet subscription with router …….

So newsservers: eweka has too less bandwidth towards my new ISP, causing only to give me 1MB/s download where I should be able to reach 3MB/s

Now I switched to XSNEWS but too bad: this weekend they suffer from issues on speed and authentication as well. Terrible !!!!

Een UPC Saga met goede afloop

Omdat mijn oude werkgever mijn internet abonnement niet meer betaald, zocht ik wat anders. Een alles in 1 pakket was de meest logische keuze gezien de kosten. Dus vragen we voor onze vakantie het digitale pakket van UPC aan.

Terug na 1 week vakantie hebben we 1 pakket binnen. Kabelmodem en HDTV pakket. Aansluiten dan maar. Gezien mijn ‘netwerk’ ervaring een fluitje van een cent, maar na uren wachten geen ONLINE status van het kabelmodem en ook geen ‘On Demand’ functionaliteit.

Dan ga je dus voor 0,10 cent per minuut bellen met de Helpdesk. Sorry dat ik het moet schrijven UPC, maar daar zat iemand die zelf uit Maastricht kwam en niet wist dat Apeldoorn niet dicht bij Amsterdam ligt (ja in het alfabet). Dit om toch mij maar te vertellen dat
