Mixfreaks Remix Tip

JPL did it again for the Mixfreaks..
He created a wonderful mix ..

Reservoir Dogs (1992) triggered me to do at least something with this song as Quentin Tarantino did in his Film. Best part was finding a song that could fit in. So it became a “non” -edit combimix of Stealers Wheel – Stuck in the middle with you and Vanity 6 – Nasty Girl!!! Worst part was to sync them it up.Well….it´s back to the 70´s then…haha.

Lack of updates

As you could have seen: the weblog has lack of updates the last few days.
Caused by 2 things: Work and my other hobby: Mixfreaks
There were some issues regarding the mixfreaks and services we use ‘as-is’..
This caused me to install opennap and some other things on my own linux server at home. At work it’s more busier than ever..

Keep tuned I will try to update the weblog..

Dutch national radio sucks !

Dutch national radio sucks; especially in the morning.

As a huge remix/mix fan we listen to mixes / combi-mixes / 12″s at the radio.
Our beloved (?) DJ Rob Stenders has a ‘combi-mix’ item with DJ ARNO
I think that sucks!

After playing todays messy remix the following comments were made:
‘Arno, you had warned us that it sounds ugly sometimes …… ‘
yeah, said arno, it’s a remix, he …

With this he states that he is not able to mix a nice combimix what is sounding awesome!

That sucks! Cause why are you using your name for crap? And why is crap broadcasted anyway?

Because you are a friend of the DJ? Is there no quality involved?.
So crap is allowed. Is this what I am paying my taxes for? (Dutch public radio is financed by the dutch tax payers).

It’s a shame cause a lot of remixers are out here doing 100 times a better job!

A “dutch” tradition is to create a 1 hour music-mix at the end of the year with only music released in that year. National and local radio-stations request a mixer (hobby / professional mixer) to create a music mix of the best records of that year.

@ mixfreaks.nl they started to collect a list with the yearmixes for 2002
If you are a mixer and you will create a yearmix 2002 (only year 2002 records used) you can send an e-mail to be added to the list.

Think about web-hits, exposure and information requests and of course: people will know your name!
