Upcoming fixes Beta firmware CFULLHDMA

Conceptronic CFULLHDMA beta release version number: 1.09.49.06

  • It fixes an issue causing the CFULLHDMA to crash when a user is using DVD Shrink to rip a DVD and where an audio track was removed
  • In previous version in NFS mode the MKV trick mode was not working
  • In previous version some M2TS/MKV could not be played correctly (loading icon appeared), 
  • In previous version when editing the iMedia URL from PC it could crash

After upgrading and reboot, please turn off (remove power-cord) and turn on (insert power-cord) again.

Beta testers will be informed when this version is available. If you are not beta-tester you can apply but you will only get an e-mail when I offer a new beta firmware version. So the current beta version will not be send to you.

Let op: File Navigatie Rijders

Gisteren ontdekt op de A1 (al 3 dagen rijden daar jojo’s die niet in het donker kunnen rijden (elk jaar hetzelfde liedje)), waardoor er een berg file staat zo rondom Stroe richting Hoevelaken.

Nu viel het me al op dat er een berg autorijders stukken afsnijden door gebruik te maken van bijv. een Tankstation of parkeerplaats. Waarom toch? Ik heb geleerd dat dat officieel niet mag en/of dat het gewoonweg asociaal is ten opzichte van andere chauffeurs. Dus eens gekeken waar dat aan ligt.

Momenteeel moeten mensen dus leren rijden met een navigatie om zo doel en richting te kunnen bepalen. Tjsa.. toen kwam de aap uit de mou.

Stel je Navigatie in en rij vanaf Stroe richting Voorthuizen. Zorg ervoor dat er een file staat, want anders werkt het niet .. Heb je een file veroorzaakt .. sluit dan achteraan in de file en zorg ervoor dat dit gemeld wordt in de TMC berichten en laat je navigatie de route bepalen.

Mijn navigatie stuurt mij gewoon over de parkeerplaats of tankstation om een stuk af te snijden ..

Meneer de navigatiebouwer, mag dat?

Request for comments: CH3SNAS

I’ve 2 bugs submitted to the dev team about CH3SNAS:

‘ Clock drift ‘ ; this issue was not ‘reproduced’ by the dev. team. I need a clear description how the bug can be found and/or reproduced. They used for more than 10 days the command rtc -r and date to check the time and saw no issues. Please do not drop it in the comments but e-mail me.

NTP bug: it’s difficult to test, can someone try to give a more clear way to test like:

  • 1. exact time
  • 2. Nas display time with GMT+1 and no DST
  • 3. Nas display time with GMT+12 and EU DST
  • 4. NAS display time with GMT and No DST
  • 5. NAS dislay time with GMT and no EU DST

The more info the better. Please submit your help to my e-mail address.

CH3SNAS with Squeezecenter / Squeezebox howto

Some persons asked me if it is possible to have SqueezeCenter running at the CH3SNAS

After long time writing: nope, it’s not possible we finally have a howto how the CH3SNAS can work easily (kuch) with SqueezeCenter 7.2

The correct installation you can find here, please notice the 4.2.3 section where the DBD::MYSQL package needs to be installed, you have to use the alternative compile option. the normal Perl Makefile.PL rule is not compiling on the CH3SNAS, you need the longer rule with alternative references to the libraries (libs).

When you follow this walktrough completely you have a working SqueezeCenter software server running at your CH3SNAS. A big thanks to Yannick for his great howto

note: you need to create a squeezecenter user on the CH3SNAS otherwise you cannot chown certain files.

Beta Firmware 1.09.44.06/09 released

After getting only 1 or 2 serious issues reported in the 1.09.41.06/09 firmware (failing DVD playback after x minutes and/or some issues with DVD menu) we analyzed some content and found the bug and could solve it which resulted in the release of 1.09.44.06. The user experience should be awesome now if it was not already ;-)

It’s the intention to release this version to the public through the official channel.

Fixing playback of DVD video causing the CFULLHDMA to crash/hang
Fixing some AVI files giving too few IFrames, causing the CFULLHDMA to hang
Fixing a bug causing no sound to have on HDMI when changing video output when playing music files

TV Serie Tip: FlashPoint

Just saw the the first episode of a new TV Serie: Flashpoint. WOW .. the first episode is about drama, about action. Enrico Colantoni (the guy who played the dad of Veronice Mars) plays one of the leading characters

Right now 8 episodes have been aired. So I’ve something to catch-up with. Check the TV.com website of Flashpoint and the official CBS website of Flashpoint
