NZBGET & enhanced UNPAK script

Last week I installed NZBGET and used a simple postprocess script unpacking downloaded usenet stuff. I found another script from ‘Ydrol’ .. which was created for the PopcornHour. Altough this script is not perfect and have same ‘issue’ as the older postprocess script this script is very enhanced. It is smart, it makes connection to imdb and it puts stuff is special folders .. WAUW ..

The script has 1 bug: if you download multiple DVD’s in one NZB and they have same folder structure (like *.rar and video_ts in it, than the files will be overwritten, so names of rar files were (are) not taken into consideration

I have created a tar file with all the original files and the files I use for the CH3SNAS. It are the modified unpak.cfg & unpak.sh files. Put the 2 files in the /ffp/etc folder, check the file properties for unpak.sh alter the nzbget.conf file to process unpak.sh (not postprocess.sh)  and restart nzbget ..

I have altered paths so that you use /mnt/HD_a2/usenet/* folder the files to be stored.

Downoaded files will be put in a category name, an unsorted folder or movie, erotica etc.. hardlinks will be made for New or Recent stuff .. WOW .. 

try it and if you have some suggestions to fix the ‘issue’ or any other changes you might worth to mention, do not hesitate to use the comments ..

UPS & Server

Perfect.. de UPS heeft vanmiddag de server in de lucht gehouden

Ik wilde een lampje aan doen en die zei: POEF! .. en direct een piep van de UPS .. Rustig in de meterkast de schakelaar omgezet en jawel hoor .. alles mooi nog in de lucht .. Mooi simpel UPSje en het blijft draaien als een tierelier ..

Adding NZBget to CH3SNAS

I’m busy with adding a new functionality to my CH3SNAS, just to see if I can succeed finishing a project working fine ..

To get NZBGET working first install FFP 05. (Fonz Fun Plug) to enable Telnet. Download than all packages you think you need.

I download stuff from Usenet and together with the CH3SNAS you can use NZBGET to download. (you can grap your copy here) Do not forget to download and install libpar2 and libsigc you need it to get NZBGET running.

update 171208: Fonz removed the package as it was not working properly. follow http://www.aroundmyroom.com/tag/nzbget to see more info and binary file of nzbget. I am using (as of December 2008) version 0.6.0-r252 and I was able to download around 200GB before I had to reboot my device (somewhere the unzip or postprocess is causing a crash and a reboot of the device is the best way). Hugbug provides a correct binary for CH3SNAS / DNS323 from his sourceforge site !

Although nzbget is working, the scripts configured, the postprocessing is almost perect, I still have a tiny little issue with a killed nzbget when it’s trying to fix some RAR files with it’s PARS ..

Here in the console screen of my telnet session it suddenly receives a Killed message and the NZBGET tool is not running anymore. So although it’s 99% ok, I am not happy nzbget is getting killed ..\

One new feature: The content you see is sorted now! first folders, than files. from A to Z .. Please test it. It’s first time implementation. When you enter the number of the folder / file, you can jump directly to it.

Also some fixes on the DVD part

  • Fixed: sometimes the highlight of a DVD menu button was lost
  • Fixed: sometimes selecting items in DVD menu was slow
  • Fixed: When there was no language code available, subtitles could not be changed.
  • Fixed: Some DVD gave no audio.

Beta testers will be informed when available.

Opgraving in Westendorp

Bij opgravingen in de Russische bodem tot op een diepte van 100 meter hebben Russische wetenschappers resten gevonden van koperdraden, met een geschatte leeftijd van 1000 jaar.
De Russen trokken hieruit de conclusie dat hun voorouders reeds 1000 jaar geleden beschikten over een koperen communicatienetwerk!

Om niet achter te blijven zijn Amerikaanse wetenschappers ook hun bodem gaan afgraven waarbij ze op een diepte van 200 meter resten van glasvezels aantroffen.
Deze vezels bleken na onderzoek zo n 2000 jaar oud te zijn, waaruit de Amerikanen concludeerden dat hun voorouders reeds 2000 jaar geleden al een zeer geavanceerd digitaal glasvezel netwerk in gebruik hadden. En dat zo`n 1000 jaar vóór de Russen…

Een week later hebben Achterhoekse wetenschappers het volgende rapport gepubliceerd: Bij opgravingen in Achterhoekse bodem, tot op een diepte van 500 meter, hebben Achterhoekse wetenschappers helemaal niets gevonden. De Achterhoekers concluderen hieruit dat 5000 jaar geleden de oude Achterhoekers reeds beschikten over een draadloos netwerk…………….

Jaarmix.nl; een schreeuw om aandacht: HELP!

Gezocht: een systeem waarin gebruikers na aanmaak van een gebruikersaccount zelf snel zijn of haar gegevens kan publiceren.

Jaarmix.nl is een jaarlijks overzicht van gemaakte muziek mixen van nederlandse, maar ook buitenlandse DJ’s. Ik zit zelf met aardig veel tijdgebrek waardoor het dagelijks bijhouden van jaarmix.nl bijna niet mogelijk is.

Zou het systeem nu simpel en makkelijk van opzet zijn waardoor de ingave van de gegevens binnen ‘seconden’ klaar kan zijn dan zou ik ook dit jaar een jaarmix overzicht kunnen bijhouden.

Dus is er een webontwikkelaar die een supermakkelijk / simpel tool kan bouwen: ik ben u eeuwig dankbaar. Zonder jou hulp namelijk dit jaar geen jaarmix.nl
