Beta Firmware 1.09.44.06/09 released

After getting only 1 or 2 serious issues reported in the 1.09.41.06/09 firmware (failing DVD playback after x minutes and/or some issues with DVD menu) we analyzed some content and found the bug and could solve it which resulted in the release of 1.09.44.06. The user experience should be awesome now if it was not already ;-)

It’s the intention to release this version to the public through the official channel.

Release note for 1.09.44.06/09:

Fixing playback of DVD video causing the CFULLHDMA to crash/hang
Fixing some AVI files giving too few IFrames, causing the CFULLHDMA to hang
Fixing a bug causing no sound to have on HDMI when changing video output when playing music files

CFULLHDMA gebruikt in Gbit project

CFULLHDMA Beta firmware release 1.09.41

I was really disappointed to withdraw the firmware of yesterday due to some serious issues. Due to the special feature of using SRT files with the CH3SNAS the iMedia part stopped working. Damn..

Firmware file will be available for beta testers. They will be informed by mail

note: many ‘internet streams’ will work properly now! (like uitzendinggemist, sbs6 uitzending gemist etc..) some like: rtl4 uitzendinggemist are under debugging.

CFULLHDMA:TIP

Tip: it could happen that the CFULLHDMA is crashing and that it does not react to the remote control anymore to reset it.

The first solution is to remove the power connector, but a 2nd not documented feature is to do it with the ‘green’ button at the backside

Press the ‘green’ button 1 time for about 1 second, then release, then press again for 5 seconds. The CFULLHDMA will be turned off.

CFULLHDMA: function implementation

A much requested feature is the ability to jump into a movie on time level. Right now we only implemented a jump feature on 50% level.

Our current design is: when entering 50 you will jump to 50% of the movie. This function we will keep (I like it very much).

New: when pressing 0 it will enable the: ‘seek by time indicator’ function and show: 00:00:00 for the time input. If you enter with the numeric keypad the following sequence, for example: 0 010010 than you will jump to 01:00:10 into the movie; 0 005000 will jump to 00:50:00 into the movie. etc..

This is the first step which needs to be completed and if complete than we can also adjust the time jump function using the PREV/NEXT key.

Feature is under development now

As an experiment I have added a kind of ‘bug/feature trac system’ so that everyone can enter his ‘issues’ in it. Maybe this would be helpful for us.
